Mr Daniel Yin studied under world-renowned cello master and London Symphony Orchestra panel resident musician and professor Prof. Amanda Truelove, one of the most famous French cellists Helene Dautry, former Hong Kong Sinfonietta Principal Cello (currently Deputy Principal) Mr. Laurent Perrin, and Hong Kong’s famous teacher Mr. Ni Wenqiang. Daniel Yin has also studied with famous teachers and masters from all over the world (including Professor Zhu Yibing, Director of the Cello Teaching and Research Department of the Central Conservatory of Music, Professor Yalimu, Sergi Boadella, JE. Bouche, M. Santapau, etc.). Mr Daniel Yin has won numerous awards in the classical music circle in Hong Kong. The most well-known one is that he won the Champion with Gold Award (Honours - Distinction) in the highest level cello concerto category (Cello Concerto) of the Hong Kong Schools Music and Recitation Association Inter-school Music Festival. He is recognized as one of the top student cellists in Hong Kong. In addition, Daniel is the only gold medal winner (champion) and Distinction award in the cello open category of the HKCYAA Inter-School Music Festival 2021, and is also the champion and gold medal winner of the Superior Culture International Youth Music Festival. Mr Daniel Yin was also awarded a full scholarship under the Sir Robert Black Trust Fund Outstanding Student Scheme (Non-academic) by the Government.
